OMG what a nightmare about the skunk!! More envy about the blue-throated, I'm down to 4 common species, the Anna's of which will be the only one to spend the winter.
My gosh, we share your drought frustration from a couple hundred miles away & even smell skunk from your descriptions! The folk remedy of crushed tomatoes; canned, diced, whole or sliced, even ketchup or juice rubbed onto clothes, skin, feathers, furnishings or fur works wonders to alleviate that unsavory smell. Rub, rinse, repeat if needed. Good luck & hopes for rain ☔️ 🌧️
Yecch! Have had some experience when our dog got sprayed by a skunk. But the whole house? That's a spray of epic proportions. You and your wife have my deepest sympathy.
Ohhhhh so sorry about the skunk in the house! Wishing you rain.
Thanks Karen...yeah, still dealing with the smell...sometimes I think someone is brewing coffee!
I like your backyard Ken.
Me too! Feel free to visit any time!

And this morning the Flame-colored Tanager is back!

When we moved into the place 15 years ago, I found giant cans
of tomato juice under the sink...I had no idea what they were for but should have taken it as a warning!
