You can dream, but you can't record what's not actually there! (And my comment was partly a reference to my memoir, Bless the Birds, and Richard's bird hallucinations. Which disappointed my brother greatly by being red-winged blackbirds, not something less common.)
Susan, you’re book was wonderful and heart wrenching. Thank you for sharing it with us. I have had this on a post it note since I read it: “to live with my heart outstretched as if it were my hand...”
Thanks Arlene--yes, feeling better. But still testing positive. I didn't get Paxlovid, just stuck to Ibuprophen and lots of fluids. Didn't lose my taste either, which I'm happy about! The sparrows are early this year, especially the white-crowns and Lincoln's!
Consider yourself lucky that you didn't lose your taste. Glad you seem to have had mild symptoms. Looking around, there is hardly any green grass in this grassland so I expect winter sparrows to be very poor. I'm depressed about that. Only 7.45" since Jan 1. Worst year ever.
Yikes! Feel better soon. And in the meantime, don't get so feverish that you hallucinate birds....
Ha! That would give the poor eBird administrator a headache! Condors and thick-billed parrots in the yard! Together!

I'll settle on this morning's FOS Swainson's Thrush then!
Yowza!

Oh, thank you, Karen! I love that line, and I'm glad it spoke to you too. Blessings!
Sorry to hear that you got Covid! Hope you’re feeling better by now. Lovely bird pictures as usual.
Thanks Wendy! I'm feeling better, past the fever part but still testing positive. Able to get out and look for birds!
Hope you are on the mend. Did you get Paxlovid? Lose your taste? I lost mine for over 3 weeks!
Do you have all of those winter sparrows already? I'm only seeing GTTO, VESP, BRSP and CHSP.

Be well! And thanks always for the bird updates.
Thanks Michael! First of the season Swainson's Thrush came in this morning!
Get well soon, Ken. Hope you have lots of rest and lots of visits to the back yard to keep you company.
Great birds! I hope feel better quickly.
