Your yard must be a universal landing strip for birds. Do you have colored flags out that signal the birds in ?

Oh wait, I know, must have something to do with pajamas …Either way, cheering for 100 species in the yard for May.

Especially love the Western Tanager. We should be seeing the gorgeous Scarlet Tanager any day now.

Thank you for letting me spend some time in your incredible yard.

I've heard people claim there's a "bird vortex" over the yard...maybe. Sometimes I just think about a bird (in my pajamas) and it appears! And not just any ordinary bird... Glad you are enjoying the posts! Would love to see a Scarlet Tanager! Very rare for AZ but not unheard of!

Absolutely amazing. I often don’t see 50 species even during migration and I have a whole park with a lake.

Thanks Karen! I wandered about a bit today and picked up 63 species--not bad for the first day of May. Some is just luck...like seeing a pair of Montezuma Quail, which I know are here but tough to find. Now...if I had a lake...

I get luckier when I’m out there wandering.
