Ooh, nice redwood deck! Are you going to christen the new place like a boat, smash the bottle, in this case , across the deck, to symbolize good luck, great writing and , let’s see, oh, excellent bird watching. Maybe a toast beforehand. Very excited for you! The yard will soon be filled with a riot of color and birdsong.

“You must really love birds.” And I do too, I can’t wait to see what comes your way. Just hung up my first attempt at a nesting ball, very enticing contents, at least in my opinion🪹🐦‍⬛🪺.

Thanks Lor. I think we will christen the place by drinking the Writer's Tears! Maybe pour a small libation on the deck... The color is now arriving in the orioles and warblers! Good luck with the nesting ball--let me know how it goes!

What a beautiful and inspiring spot that will be for you! I was hoping to stop by before we moved (in 5 days!) but the day we decided to visit Whitewater and Bisbee you were hiking the Grand Canyon. We have Anna's year-round but in the last week a male Broad-billed showed up as well as a male Costa's this morning. It's bittersweet for me though as soon I'll be gone from this beautiful spot in the Dragoons.

Yes, so bittersweet...so sorry I never had a chance to visit your place in the Dragoons...if you ever come to Bisbee when I'm not hiking the GC (!) be sure to stop by--anytime. The first Painted Redstart of the season just came by this morning...with a pair of Scott's Orioles! It's getting interesting!

It must be amazing to get all those humming birds! Such beautiful creatures.

Your writing shed looks amazing and I had never before realised there's a brand of Irish Whiskey called Writers Tears!
