A male Blue Grosbeak asks for sunflower seeds - love this "asks" description.

Thanks Dani--yeah, sometimes language isn't all that verbal but still pretty clear.

I should have warned you about writers...everyone is material. (Although I see now that you're a writer too! A book about butterflies!)

Not a writer though -- I just contributed the photos.

Awesome. How do I get a copy?

It's been quite a few years since I completed that project and I've given all of the copies away. A few years ago the publisher decided to combine the two (western and eastern shore of MD) and never sent me the revision. I had to look on Amazon to see it! I am going to see if she'll part with a few but I wouldn't be surprised if she says no. It was not a pleasant experience working with her. If she feels "generous" I'll save a copy for you but it's not all that relevant for these parts. Jim Brock did the Arizona butterflies fold-out for her.

Love the Eastern Shore--lots of fond memories of Choptank and crab cakes. It's where my mom grew up...

James Michener's Chesapeake is one of my all-time favorite books!

What do you mean "just"? Ha!

Seems I can't edit my replies so let me elaborate. It's one of those plastic fold-out guides to butterflies of the mid-Atlantic states, not a book.
