Wow those are beautiful birds that I’ve never seen! So glad you have rain. And boy do I understand the stress and heartache of family who are sucked in to the propaganda and lies. Just had Covid go through one of the unvaccinated households in my family and I was so scared for them. They were lucky.

We have so many amazing birds in the Mule Mountains--some I've never seen before! Sorry to hear about your family--we've had the same, including a death from Covid (unvaccinated!), which I will eventually get to in my posts...so unspeakably sad when it can be prevented...

So sorry for your loss. My mother died in January, not from Covid directly but indirectly from full hospitals and not being able to get care when she needed it - and from the inactivity and loss of the things that sustained her. I am really struggling with my compassion for those fighting against the obvious things that will help us all.

You and me both--sometimes I'm so angry with my family and others that I may find it difficult to grieve their loss...

Love that Violet-crowned! Too bad you couldn't locate the nest but maybe for the best.

Love to hear about the yard and water works and the birds, too, of course. Thanks for the idea about the dryer lint. Our own hummers might like that too.

Thanks Valerie! Just make sure the lint is free of detergents or other chemicals like that in dryer sheets (I wash my lint thoroughly). And natural fibers like cotton are best since they wick moisture better than synthetics. I pull the lint after drying sheets and flannels...one clump will last the whole season! Enjoy! Today I'm watching mostly Anna's but I still have some late migrating Broad-tails and Rufous and an awesome juvenile Violet-crown!
