I once saw a single MOQU cross the road about a quarter mile from our house. Gave me hope that they would eventually find us but it hasn't happened. They are uncommon but present up in the Dragoons but don't usually come down to the mesquite grasslands.
I do miss the desert and it's beauty. Now living here in Kentucky it's a whole new discovery of wildlife. Not even sure where to begin. 🤔

we have small coveys only occasionally...never seen them come for seed or water...not sure what if anything will attract them.
Yet, if you camp at Davis Mt. State Park in TX, they come right to the ground seed feeders (not that I may ever go to TX again!).
