I've never been to Cienega Creek but always take note of it when driving I-10 to and from Tucson. You're lucky to have access to it. Outstanding Zone-tailed photos too!

Thanks Arlene! Means a lot coming from you! You'd love Cienega--just need a state lands permit. I have one, so let's plan on a visit there when this pandemic is under control. Love to bird that stretch of desert river with you...

We actually have the state lands permit! Didn't realize that's all you needed for access. I thought you had to contact someone. I'd love to bird that area with you but my hiking days have been greatly impacted by the need for a knee replacement from an injury 10 years ago that got worse right before the virus hit. I had arthroscopic surgery in Jan. 2020 which only slightly helped and then all elective surgeries were put on the back-burner after Covid 19 hit. I have no desire to have surgery until things get a lot better. So.....

Pretty sure that's all you need--Jessica handles all the permitting and that's what she gave me to put in my car for Cienega. Sorry to hear about the knees! Mine still function but I worry about every twinge after all those years playing high school football...
